All CPR Classes are American Heart Association (AHA) Classes. Our AHA CTC
center is through Will/Grundy EMS system (Silver Cross Hospital).
Payment is due before being placed on the roster. To sign up for a class call
815-436-5335 during normal business hours. Contact us below if you have any
questions or would like to sign up for a class. Payment must be dropped off at
the Plainfield Fire Station One, 15025 S Desplaines St, Plainfield Illinois.

CPR for Family & Friends
(Adult and Pediatric Modules)
Teaches skills in CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. It presents
information about the adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac
arrest, stroke and choking in adults. It also presents information on pediatric
infant and children Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children,
prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, and prevention of the most
common fatal injuries in infants and children.
The course is intended for all lay rescuers, such as school children, family
members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death and other lay-persons
who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones.
Heartsaver/AED
(Adult and Pediatric Modules)
Teaches how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including
cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child (1-8 years of age), and infant (birth to
1 year of age) victims and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Students learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in
adults and breathing difficulties in children, about using barrier devices in CPR,
and giving first aid from choking. The course teaches how to recognize the
signs of 4 major emergencies; heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest and foreign-
body airway obstruction.
The course is intended for all lay responders, such as firefighters, police,
airline personnel, security guards, employees in the workplace, family members
of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers, and those
who may need to respond to a cardiac emergency.
Healthcare Provider
Covers choking, rescuer breathing and one/two rescuer CPR for infants,
children, and adults. Class also includes an AED demo and practice, ventilation
with a bag-valve-mask and barrier device. Participants who successfully
complete the skills and written tests will receive a certification card which is
valid for two years.
Intended audience are those individuals who work in a healthcare setting and
those required to take a HCP course for their employment. Doctors, Nurses,
CNA's, EMT's/Paamedics, Firefighters, various technicians.
Healthsaver AED
(Adult CPR/AED)
All CPR instructors, AED providers, First Responders, Police, and anyone else
who may have to provide public-access defibrillation.
Heartsaver First Aid
(AED, Adult CPR, First Aid)
Anyone requiring first aid certification. This includes adult CPR and AED but
does not include pediatric CPR
BLS Instructor
Anyone interested in teaching all levels of CPR and First Aid courses. Must be
in a healthcare related field and be certified for 2 years in BLS For Healthcare
Provider.
Heartsaver Instructor
Anyone interested in teaching Heartsaver level of CPR and First Aid courses.
Must be certified in Heartsaver CPR/AED for 2 years
