Applications are now being accepted to create a list for

FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC POSITIONS

In order to test for the position, you must have the following:

FFII with Hazardous Material Awareness
Paramedic Certification
(or currently accepted in Class providing proof of enrollment)
at time of test.
Must have Paramedic Certification at time of hire.
High School Graduate or equivalent
A valid Illinois driver’s license
U. S. Citizen
Be able to read, write and speak the English language.

All applicants must be 21 years of age at time of test.

All applicants over the age of 35 years must comply with Illinois Statute 70 ILCS 705/16.06.

Applications are due no later than Thursday, June 12, 2008 by 4:00 p.m.  – Must be
delivered in person to Station # 1 Administration.

All certifications must be obtained on your own time.

Mandatory Orientation

will be held at Plainfield Fire Station #1
15025 S. DesPlaines St.
Plainfield, IL 60544
on Saturday, June 14, 2008
in the upstairs meeting room.
Doors will be locked at 9:00 a.m.
Please advise prior to orientation if handicap access is needed.


The written test
will be held on
Saturday, June 28, 2008
in the upstairs meeting room.
Doors will be locked at 9:00 a.m.
Please advise prior to test if handicap access is needed.


All candidates must provide a copy of their current
CPAT Card to the Plainfield Fire District
no later than Friday, August 15, 2008.
CPAT testing may not be dated prior to January 1, 2008.


Copies of the following will be required when turning in your application:
Current Driver’s License
Birth Certificate
High School Diploma
All Illinois State Fire Marshal Certifications
Paramedic Certification
