PLAINFIELD  FIRE  PROTECTION  DISTRICT
History of the Plainfield Fire Protection District
On July, 5th 1935, at 7:30 p.m. the first meeting of the Plainfield Fire Protection
District was held in the Village Hall of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois.

Trustees drew lots to determine the length of their term of office with the following
results:
Dale Mottinger - one year
George Drumm - two years
John Lauterbach - three years

The election of officers being the next in order, resulting as follows:
George Dumm, President
Dale Mottinger, Secretary
John Lauterbach, Treasurer

A corporate seal in a circular form with the words, "Plainfield Fire Protection District" in
the outer circle and in the inner and center of said circle, the words "Corporate Seal,
June 17, 1935", shall be the seal of said Plainfield Fire Protection District, this was
passed on July, 5th 1935.

On May 13, 1938, it was moved and seconded that Van Overman, be recommend as
Fire Chief of the Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department, motion passed.
