| Plainfield Fire Protection District is an authorized AHA Training Center. Payment must be dropped off prior to the course. At that time, you will receive a course manual to review before the class. Payments can be dropped off at Headquarters, 23748 W. 135th Street. Pricing for all classes include an AHA student manual. Call for pricing on large groups. AHA Classes available are: BLS Healthcare Provider The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals. Intended Audience Healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel. Length: Approximately 4 ½ hours Course Cost: $50.00 Renewal Course-$40.00 (must show proof of current card) Heartsaver AED This course teaches CPR and AED use as well as relief of Foreign Airway Body Obstructions (choking) in adults, children, and infants. Students will also learn how to use barrier devices. Intended Audience Responders such as teachers, security guards, lifeguards, and Health Club employees. Also, the general public who wants to learn CPR and AED skills. Length: Approximately 3 ½ hours Course Cost: $35.00 Pediatric CPR with First Aid This course teaches how to manage injuries and illness to a child before professional help arrives. Content includes First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, and Environmental emergencies. Adult/Child CPR included. Intended Audience: Anyone involved in child care or whose job requires them to respond to medical emergencies such as child care workers, teachers, camp counselors and coaches. Length: Approximately 6 hours Course Cost: $50.00 Adult First Aid & CPR This course teaches how to manage injuries and illness to adults before professional help arrives. Content includes First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, and Environmental emergencies. Adult/Child CPR included. Intended Audience: Anyone whose job requires them to respond to any kind of emergencies because of job requirements or regulations. Length: Approximately 6 hours Course Cost: $50.00 Friends and Family CPR This is a basic CPR course for those who just simply want to learn CPR and ways aid in choking victims. It covers Adults, Children and infants. There is not a completion card for this course. Intended Audience: Family members, friends, and members of the general public that want to learn CPR but do not need a completion card.
